Champaign County Sheriff Information
The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office provides the community with a variety of police services. It is comprised of three divisions – Law Enforcement, Court Security, and Corrections. The Law Enforcement Division employs 54 persons which include the Sheriff and Chief Deputy. The officers in this division patrol and answer calls throughout the county. The Court Security Division is staffed by 13 sworn officers who handle prisoners, tend to juries, and provide individual courtroom security. The Corrections Division oversees two facilities, employing 50 officers, 8 Sergeants, 3 Lieutenants, and 1 Captain to oversee their operations. The CCSO is headed by Sheriff Dustin D. Heuerman.
