With a game as hectic and imaginative as Castle Crashers, there’s bound to be equally as creative weapons for players to try out. The game functions as a rather simple four-player cooperative beat ‘em up, but with a weapon count that nearly reaches one hundred weapons, there is certainly lots to experiment with.

The weapons are all over the place in terms of creativity. There are plenty of classic fantasy weapons with some slight unique design choices. On the flip side, players are able to run around beating people up with cardboard tubes, pieces of meat, an umbrella, and even a familiar alien gun. Still, some weapons have to stand above the others when it comes to stat bonuses.

This is a game that incentivizes you to try a variety of characters and weapons in order to get the most from the game. Fortunately, the game has dozens upon dozens of standard and unique weapons to try out. While many players are likely going to find a few favorites to swap between, there are some that are better for higher levels and deal out more punishment to the game's cartoony baddies. This list is being fleshed out with a couple more weapons that should make their way into your arsenal when possible.
12 Key Sword
The Key Sword is a unique weapon in Castle Crashers in that it can be used as a powerful weapon, dishing out high agility and magic damage, but is also used as a regular key to open a specific golden padlocked door. Players that find themselves in the Blacksmith area near the Animal Ark can use the Key Sword to open up the golden lock.
On top of being a multi-purpose weapon, the Key Sword just looks really darn cool, offering up a glowing aura on the battlefield. While it might not be as strong as some of the higher-level weapons, its use as a magic sword and a regular key makes it quite special. Found in the Full Moon level, the Key Sword should be sought out by players using the Cardinal Animal Orb.
11 Electric Eel
Ah yes, the humble Electric Eel; both an aquatic creature and a weapon in the case of Castle Crashers. As you might imagine, a weapon like the Electric Eel can dole out physical damage as well as electric damage, something that helps during many frantic battles in the game. Found at the Swamp Village store, the Electric Eel can be bought for 445 gold.
For players that are at least level 30, the Electric Eel can be harnessed. This quirky weapon is great for players who love dealing magic damage, with this sword-type weapon offering +4 in magic damage. It's certainly not the strongest in the game but it is quite well-rounded overall and is a great weapon to have in your arsenal.
10 Chainsaw
Whenever a chainsaw is featured in any kind of game with combat, it’s safe to say that the iconic weapon is bound to be both fun to use, and incredibly deadly. The weapon comes along with a five percent bonus buff to the given player’s critical hit chance, which can come in handy.
The weapon itself doesn’t provide any boosts to the player's strength, agility, or magic, but it provides a big defense buff. The increased critical hit chance and the +5 to players' defense allows players to take more hits, and hand out more critical hits.
9 Ribeye
While there are probably dozens of excellent weapons that come to mind when people think of their favorite weapons, a big piece of meat probably isn't one of them. When players see it debuffs magic abilities by -2, they may scratch their heads.

The Ribeye isn’t for magic users, though. The piece of meat boosts the player's strength and agility by +4, making them capable of dashing around the screen to take out any enemies they may come across. There’s no real boost or debuff to the player’s defense, so combat-heavy builds have little downside when picking this weapon.
8 Buffalo Mace
If players want to create a tank of sorts, there are few weapons better to pick than the deadly Buffalo Mace. While the weapon is great, having access to it at the same time as so many other excellent weapons leaves it low on the list.
The mace gives players a +5 to their strength and a +3 to their defense, but their agility drops down -2. The additional fact that it seemingly has no added effect makes the Buffalo Mace a great weapon, but not the best.
7 Clunky Mace
There is a wide variety of useful maces in Castle Crashers, but you may not expect one of the best to include the word “clunky” in its name. One of the best parts of this excellent weapon is that it can be accessed about halfway through the game for use.
The mace gives players a -2 to their agility, but it gives them a whopping +5 to their strength. If players are looking for a weapon to dish out serious punishment for some of the harder levels in the game, the Clunky Mace is a great choice.
6 Butcher's Knife
For players that prefer to slice and dice their opponents rather than blast them away with magic, the Butcher's Knife is always an excellent choice. The weapon provides some excellent bonuses, but the issue is that magic is a large part of the combat in-game, and it debuffs that.
The weapon has no added effects to speak of and it gives you a -2 to your magic abilities. What's good for players that don’t use magic often is that it also offers a +5 to strength and a +2 to agility.
5 Golden Skull Mace
There are a few different reasons as to why so many Castle Crashers players enjoy utilizing the Golden Skull Mace. The first seems to be a personal preference for the stylish weapon.
While the weapon doesn’t offer some of the most impressive buffs around, it does boast a four percent boost to the player's critical hit, which is great considering the strikes deal four times the normal damage. Pair that with a +3 to the player's strength and the Golden Skull Mace becomes an incredible pick for any player.
4 Fishing Spear
Sometimes, great weapons come with minor debuffs. The Fishing Spear is a great weapon that reduces players' speed, but many veteran players are willing to take the hit to their movement capabilities.
The spear comes with a -3 to their overall agility, but many players can manage their character moving a bit slower. The real bonuses come from the +5 to strength and +2 to magic that can make combat in even the toughest levels fly by. Many players love grabbing the Fishing Spear and watching the game’s bosses’ health bars practically melt.
3 Club
The club is a simple weapon that debuffs the player’s speed, but the boost in strength and defense may be more than worth it for many players. Players that take on the tougher difficulties in the game may find themselves gravitating toward the use of the Club.

The weapon debuffs your speed by -3, but both your strength and defense each get a +5. Players that have mastered some of the game's more cheap combos will be able to output a ton of damage without taking too much in return.
2 NG Golden Sword
While you could opt for any number of fantastic swords that the game has to offer, it’s likely that most people will jump for the NG Golden Sword. Aside from its ornate look, the sword offers some of the best bonuses with some of the least impactful debuffs.
The sword provides a +5 for both strength and magic, which can change any player into the real monster of the game. With a simple -3 to agility, you will be able to fly through the game on even the toughest difficulties with ease.
1 Man Catcher
One of the stranger-looking weapons in a game that is filled with strange-looking weapons, the Man Catcher is a solid pick for any player. The thing that puts this weapon at the top of the list is the fact that there are absolutely no downsides to picking it.
Players get a two percent bonus to their critical hit chance, a +5 to their strength, and a +2 to their defense. If players want a weapon that provides great boosts with absolutely no kind of punishment, the Man Catcher is the go-to weapon.
